Brad Pitt is on the phone while Clare Forlani sits having a cup of tea before going to work. He gets off the phone, sits down opposite her and then proceeds to lay the charm on her. In about five minutes she’s completely in love with him.

You might think that that description I wrote sounds a little contrived. A little unrealistic, I mean five minutes? The only way I can counter that argument is with these three words: It’s Brad Pitt. And looking for reason in this film is like looking for continuity in Daredevil, its just not gonna happen. I mean the grim reaper has decided to take a break for a day from the eternity of soul ushering he has been involved in since the beginning of time and decides to spend that time hanging out with a crusty old fart like Anthony Hopkins and having epiphanies over the wonder of peanut butter.

I’m not really sure why the scene is so resonant with me, but there’s no doubt in my mind its my favourite scene in a movie ever. It makes me fall in love with Clare Forlani. It’s just perfect writing. And Brad Pitt is Brad Pitt, lets call a spade a spade for fucks sake. He could charm the pubes off a rhino.
