My Favourite Movie Scenes :: #6 LOST IN TRANSLATION
Charlotte and misserbobharrislipmystocking have gone out for a night with a Japanese guy who is for no apparent reason called ‘Charlie Brown’. They then run off to someone’s house where they listen to music and then head off to a karaoke bar. Charlotte puts on a wig and sings ‘Brass in Pocket’.

I remember exactly when I fell in love with Scarlett Johansson. It was this scene. Or more accurately, when she looks at Bill Murray and sings the line ‘I’m special’. She’s about as good as singing as Jennifer Lopez is at marriage, but its not the point. It’s the cute thing that gets me I think.
I remember that for about five minutes, from the moment I saw the film, I posted something on this site back I think before it was even pink, and then about roughly six or so days later, she was suddenly the most famous actress in the world. I remember that at the time I liked her because she was show stoppingly beautiful but at the same time wasn’t a complete goon like Cameron Diaz. Nor was she in posession of a mouth that could on occasion swallow most land mammals whole, like Julia Roberts.
Nowadays she’s kinda disappeared off the radar and into Josh Hartnet’s bed, and is wearing gowns that are about as adept at holding breasts as Jim in the first American Pie.
I hate the song and I hate the movie, but this scene totally does it for me.
